This afternoon, head out to the early-Angkor era temples of the Rolous Group, about 15km outside of Siem Reap. Rolous is the site of the first town built by the Angkorian kings in the 8th and 9th century and consists of three main temples: Bakong, Lolei and PreahKo. The beautiful surrounding countryside with its paddy fields and sugar palm trees is very typical for Cambodia – enjoy the beauty on a cow cart ride to Rolous Pagoda, a great and fun way to get in touch with rural Cambodia and its friendly people. Morning, visit to jungle Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. The temple of Ta Prohm was once used as a location to film the famous Hollywood film Tomb Raider. Begin tour to the antique capital of Angkor Thom, start from the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Afternoon, explore Angkor Wat the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Last but not least, view a wonderful sunset from Angkor Wat or somewhere possible. Overnight at hotel.
Morning - We drive 45 km to the north of Siem Reap to Kbal Spean (The head of the bridge or the river of the thousand lingams), trekking up to the hill 1.50 km take about 2 hour for the tour. The site consists of a series of stone carvings in sandstone formations carved in the river bed and banks. It is commonly known as the "Valley of a 1000 Lingas" or "The River of a Thousand Lingas". The motifs for stone carvings are mainly myriads of lingams (phallic symbol of Hindu god Shiva), depicted as neatly arranged bumps that cover the surface of sandstone bed rock, and lingam-yoni designs. Kbal Spean is described as "a spectacularly carved riverbed, set deep in the jungle to the northeast of Angkor". On the way back stop at Pradark Village, where you will see the villagers making palm sugar, handicraft for selling to tourist. It’s a nice chance for you to see the local people living at the country side with their struggling for daily life. Evening, enjoy farewell dinner at Chef D’ Angkor and overnight at hotel
After breakfast, we drive to Chhong Khneas village, the floating village located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Visit the village and take an excursion in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s biggest natural water body and, one of the largest in Asia. The experience is wonderful as we pass by floating village, friendly children in small boats and fishermen. Return to city by spend your last visit to "Les Artisans D`Angkor - Chantiers Ecoles", this center works with young artisans; the team creates, produce and market a unique collection of ornamental sculpture, lacquer, silk weaving and silk painting. Free until transfer to Siem Reap International airport for boarding.
